BRUNCH! Dessert

Cherry Cinnamon Rolls with BACON

A can of cherry pie filling over store-bought cinnamon rolls is one of my best ideas, then add bacon ooh buddy! What a epic treat these are! And so incredibly easy to make. Bacon is optional but if you love sweet and savory desserts it doesn’t get any better.

Just look at that. YUM! I made this one in a cast iron and cooked on my Kamado Joe smoker but have also made this in a casserole dish in the oven which is obviously much easier, quicker, and ideal for us coming up into Winter months. It makes a super dessert or brunch for guests too.

This may be my easiest dessert ever.

Let’s get started!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 cans of Pillsbury grands cinnamon rolls
  • 1  21 ounce can of cherry pie filling ( I opt for the no sugar added can)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 5 strips of bacon cooked, and chopped

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees or 375 for a non stick pan
  2. Grease a casserole dish or large cast iron pan and place the cinnamon rolls snuggly together to fill the pan/dish
  3. Pour the heavy cream over the rolls, then the can of cherries.
  4. Spread the cream and cherries to cover the rolls.
  5. Now bake for 15-20 minutes or until cooked through
  6. Pour the icing over the rolls then top with the chopped bacon.
  7. Serve warm
  8. ENJOY!
