The BEST Brownies

Yes I said the best! These are SUPER chocolaty, SUPER yummy, and SUPER simple to make.

What is even better than how delicious these are is how quick they are to throw together. I feel that is exactly how brownies should be, no fuss and just happiness. No fancy equipment needed. A bowl, and whisk do the job just fine. I think the key to making these taste so yummy is by using quality chocolate. I love ghirardelli and if you can find it they make dark chocolate cocoa powder that has been an absolute game changer in my baking!

Look how scrumptious they are!

We will be using salted butter for flavor, chocolate chips, and butterscotch chips too! Of course the butterscotch is optional but my family loves it. I am a huge fan of salted butter for baking and highly recommend using Tillamook sea salted extra creamy butter. It makes the best base for our brownie batter. Plus being from the Pacific Northwest Tillamook is a staple around here. The brownies bake for 30 minutes and cool for 10 minutes.

I bake them in a 8×8 baking tin but you can easily double or triple the recipe.

Okay, lets get started!

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup Tillamook sea salted extra creamy butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract (Good quality)
  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips, melted
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder (ghirardelli dark chocolate is my favorite)
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup milk chocolate chips (1 cup if you are not using butterscotch)
  • 1/4 cup butterscotch chips
  • 1/2 tsp flaky sea salt (Osmo makes a fantastic toasted vanilla salt)
DIRECTIONS:
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Prepare a 8×8 baking dish by lining the bottom with parchment paper. Set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl add the sugar and melted butter. Whisk until smooth.
  4. Now goes the melted chocolate. Mix well.
  5. To the bowl now goes the 2 eggs and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth.
  6. Our next addition is the cocoa powder and flour. Mix thoroughly with a rubber spatula.
  7. Last to the bowl is our chocolate and butterscotch chips. Stir to combine.
  8. Pour the batter into the baking dish.
  9. Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Let cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.
  11. Slice into 12 pieces.
  12. ENJOY!
