Italian sausage, garlic, fresh herbs, parmesan cheese, and breadcrumbs makes up these tasty little bites!
I like to serve these as appetizers for guests or during the holidays. I highly recommend buying high quality sausage, it makes such an enormous difference in flavor. You can go to the butcher department at the grocery store and buy it right from the counter. Fresh and delicious. Just look at these yummies!

Stuffed Mushrooms
Golden bites of juicy sausage with herbs, garlic, and toasty breadcrumbs. Filling and always a winner at parties!
Servings: 16
Ingredients
- 3/4- 1 lb. Mild Italian sausage I recommend getting it fresh from the butcher
- 16 white mushrooms, washed and stems removed
- 3 tbsp. olive oil
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 4 green onions, minced
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. thyme
- 2 tbsp. parsley, minced plus more for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Pre-heat the oven to 325°
- In a pan brown the sausage, drain. Add a little olive oil to the pan, then the garlic, green onions, salt, pepper, and thyme. Cook for 2 minutes then set aside.
- Remove the mushroom stems, wash the mushrooms, and pat dry.
- To the sausage mixture add the parmesan cheese, parsley, and 3/4 of the breadcrumbs. Stir well to combine.
- Stuff each mushroom and fill as much as possible.
- Place in a 13x9 baking dish. Then top each mushroom with the remaining breadcrumbs.
- Drizzle on some olive oil and bake, 45-50 minutes or until golden and the top is crusty.
- Let cool and serve with a extra sprinkle of parsley.
