Homemade Mayonnaise

Homemade mayonnaise

An easy and flavor packed mayonnaise that is so creamy and fresh. It is made with simple ingredients and is SO much better than anything store bought.

My favorite part of homemade mayonnaise is how creamy and soft it is. This is my base recipe. You can add so many different fresh herbs and spices to jazz it up. I love to add hot sauce for a little kick and sometimes fresh garlic with basil. There really are so many options and combinations to play with.

Here are a couple of ingredients I like to add to my homemade mayonnaise –

  • Hot sauce habanero or chipotle
  • Minced garlic and minced basil
  • Pesto
  • Minced cilantro and parsley
  • Curry powder
  • BBQ sauce
  • Lemon and thyme
  • Lime juice, lime zest and cilantro
  • Fresh cracked pepper

Feel free to play around and see what works for you!

Ingredients:
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 2 tsp. Dijon mustard
  • 1  1/2 cups canola oil
  • salt to taste
Directions:

Combine all the ingredients in a blender, food processor, or a immersion blender. Blend until smooth. Use as is or add any of the extras for something fun. Refrigerate covered until ready to use. It will stay good for 1 to 2 weeks.

ENJOY!
