Garlic Compound Butter

What is compound butter? Well it is simply butter that is softened and mixed with various herbs, spices, and liquids. You may recognize it as the final topping on fish or steak at restaurants. That beautifully melted flavor packed finisher. YUMMY!

It is pretty simple to make and store. Just chill after mixing and slice a pad to spread on a great french baguette or place on top of a hot grilled steak bites, veggies or seafood. Endless possibilities!

Lets get started!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/2 cup (grass- fed cow) butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 tsp garlic, minced
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp herb seasoning such as italian or mrs dash
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp basil, chopped

DIRECTIONS:

Pour all ingredients into a small bowl.

Mix ingredients until well blended.

Place a good sized square of plastic wrap or parchment paper on a work surface. Spread butter mix and roll out tight, smoothing out as you roll.

Twist each end and refrigerate until chilled or ready to use.

Slice chilled compound butter and melt onto a hot juicy steak, chicken, seafood, warm bread or roasted veggies.

ENJOY!
