Dessert

Blackberry Mousse!

This fresh delightful dessert is a great way to use any fresh fruit like blackberries!

mousse (French for foam)  is a soft prepared food that incorporates air bubbles to give it a light and airy texture. It can range from light and fluffy to creamy and thick, depending on preparation techniques. Dessert mousse can be eaten as is, frozen into fun shapes, used for cakes or breakfast. I like to use in on top of pancakes or waffles!

Here in the Pacific NW we are famous for our beautiful blackberries as they do exceptionally well in the cool climate. You can drive just about anywhere (even along the highway) and see wild blackberries growing all over. Quite an invasive treat.

As you see I had quite a bit to use up. I visited a local farmers market here in Washington. Bi-Zi farms.

They have so many fresh fruit and vegetables still in season so while I was there I stocked up. As you can see in photo these blackberries are HUGE! Along with delectable mousse I will be making some quick jam too. That post will be soon.

Let’s get started on the mousse!
