French Arlette Cookies

Puff pastry rolled out and coated with cinnamon/sugar and baked to a perfect crispy cookie!

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup cinnamon
  • powdered sugar

Instructions

  • Sprinkle a workspace with powdered sugar, roll out into a rectangle with a rolling pin.
  • Sprinkle evenly with sugar and cinnamon
  • Roll gently from one end to the other.
  • Wrap carefully in parchment paper and put in the freezer for 20 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
  • After the roll has been in the freezer for 20 minutes remove and bring back to the powdered sugar workspace.
  • On the powered workspace, place the roll seam side down.
  • Using a sharp knife cut into 1/4-1/2- inch slices.
  • Now sprinkle more sugar on the workspace and onto the rolling pin, roll with a back-and-forth motion to create an elongated shape/cookie. Place the cookies on a baking sheet.
  • Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Cool on a baker's rack.
  • Enjoy with coffee or tea or with dessert. Ice cream, fresh fruit, or dip in caramel or chocolate sauce.
