Easy Wonton Soup

15 minute wonton soup that is packed with flavor, veges and super easy with store-bought wontons! A simple dish that can be served as a meal or 1st course.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Bok choy, chopped green part
  • 3 green onions, sliced small
  • 1 1/2 cups shitake mushrooms
  • 2 tbsp. cilantro, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 2 cups chicken broth I use simply asian ramen broth with soy and ginger
  • 1 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tbos. soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp. Bachan's Japanese BBQ sauce Hot and Spicy optional
  • 24 mini frozen wontons I like the minis but you can get regular and use less of a quanity.
  • black sesame seeds to taste
  • chili oil to taste
  • 2 tbsp. sesame oil

Instructions

  • In a soup pot or Dutch oven add the sesame oil and set the heat to medium.
  • Saute the garlic and mushrooms until the mushrooms start to get a little color.
  • Then add half of the green onions and Bok choy. Saute for a 2 minutes.
  • In goes the wontons.
  • Broth and water next.
    Then set the heat to high.
  • Add the soy sauce, onion powder, and Bachan's.
  • Bring to a boil and cook for 2 minutes.

  • Turn off the heat and serve.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds, cilantro, green onions, and chili oil.
