Cherry Cobbler

Simple and comforting with only 8 ingredients. This is a recipe that can be made all year round!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 6 tbsp butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups cherries, frozen or fresh if frozen, let sit out for 10-20 minutes
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°
  • In a medium bowl combine flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix and set aside
  • In a 9 x 13 inch baking dish, line with parchment spray with non stick spray. If you don't have parchment, just spray well.
  • In a mixer or hand mixer/bowl, add butter and 1 cup of sugar. Mix until creamy.
  • On medium speed, alternately add the flour mix a milk. Mix and add the vanilla.
  • Mix
  • Pour the batter into the baking dish. Spread evenly. Then in a bowl add the cherries, 1/2 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar.
  • Mix and pour on top of the batter and spread until evenly covered.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes or until golden.
  • Sprinkle with powder sugar and top with whipped cream! A nice scoop of vanilla ice-cream goes well too!
