Brown Sugar Glazed Carrots

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 bags baby carrots or 10 large carrots, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup vegetable, chicken, or turkey broth
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp parsley, chopped for garnish optional

Instructions

  • In a dutch oven or large, deep pan add the carrots, water, and broth. Bring to a boil.
  • Lower to a simmer. Stir off and on for about 8- 10 minutes or until a fork can pierce threw.
  •  Add the brown sugar, maple syrup, and butter
  • Stir carefully as to not break the carrots. Cook until almost all the liquid is dissipated and a nice thick texture is forming
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Give it one more stir and plate. Garnish with chopped parsley.
