This turkey and bacon grilled cheese is quite a dream sando. All the flavors work amazingly together!
Turkey deli meat, bacon, and muenster cheese. These delicious ingredients are sandwiched between 2 slices of sourdough bread with herbed mayo, spicy honey, and caramelized onions. You can use any type of turkey you want; I buy smoked turkey from the deli and have them slice it for me. The caramelized onions can be purchased as well. I buy a caramelized onion jam. It’s SO good! The brand I use is called Divina. Of course, making them from scratch is always delicious.
Now let’s talk about the cheese. Muenster cheese has a mild flavor. It doesn’t overwhelm any of the stronger flavors we have in the sandwich and is the perfect melty cheese. I buy it pre sliced and double layer. One layer on top of the herbed mayo/onions and then on top of the turkey.
Look at that yumminess. And here it is cooked and melted.
It really is a fantastic sandwich. If you are a bread maker or have the time, try out my sourdough recipe! Artisan Sourdough Bread <— Click here.
