Brownie-cake batter layered with caramel and Keebler striped cookies!
These beauties are rich and DECADANT. Creamy, chewy, and crunchy all at the same time. We cheat by using store-bought German chocolate cake mix and evaporated milk for extra creaminess. They are a sure to be a favorite!
Ingredients
- 1 box German chocolate cake mix
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 package Keebler Striped cookies
- 1 can evaporated milk
- 10 oz package of Werther caramels, unwrapped this takes some patience, I promise it is worth it.
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350℉
- Grease a 9″ x 13″ glass baking dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, add the cake mix.
- 1/3 cup of evaporated milk and melted butter.
- Split the mix in half. Press half of the mix into the baking dish. It will feel like dough. Â
- Bake for 8 minutes.
- Melt the caramels and 1/2 cup of evaporated milk together in a microwave safe bowl in 1 minute intervals. Stiring in between. You can also over a double broiler.
- Once the caramel is melted and smooth, pour over the baked brownie. Smooth to the edges.
- Then layer the cookies. Cut in half if need be to fit to the edges.
- Chill for 1 hour in the refrigerator or until the caramel is hard.
- Cover the other half of the cake mix while the rest is chilling.
- Once the caramel is hard, top with the remaining cake mix and spread evenly over the caramel layer. It can be a bit hard to do but just take your time and work with it.
- Bake the brownies for 30 minutes.
- Let them cool for 10 minutes.
- Cut and ENJOY!
