Festive chocolate chip cookies with a fun twist!
These are crowd pleasers with chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, and crushed candy canes! I love to make these in the begining of December to kick off the holiday season. They are easy and super delicious!Â
Let’s just jump right in.
Ingredients-
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 cup softened butter (highly recommend Tillamook extra creamy unsalted butter)
- 1\2 tsp peppermint extract
- 2 large eggs at room temperature
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup crushed candy canes (peppermint)
Directions-
- Preheat the oven to 350°F
- Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper or use a baking mat to prevent sticking.
- In a medium bowl combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir to combine.
- In a large bowl combine the butter, sugars, and extract.
- Beat until smooth.
- Add 1 egg and beat until well combined. Then the 2nd egg.
- Pour in half of the flour mixture and beat well. Add the remaining flour and beat until well combined.
- Add the chocolate and crushed candy.
- Gently fold in until combined.
- Drop onto the baking sheets by the tablespoon about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-11 minutes.
- Let them cool for 1-2 minutes then transfer to a cooling rack or plate.
- Repeat with remaining dough. * I like to sprinkle some extra candy on top after they 1st come out of the oven.
