Double Chocolate Candy Cane Cookies

Festive chocolate chip cookies with a fun twist!

These are crowd pleasers with chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, and crushed candy canes! I love to make these in the begining of December to kick off the holiday season. They are easy and super delicious!

Let’s just jump right in.

Ingredients-

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup softened butter (highly recommend Tillamook extra creamy unsalted butter)
  • 1\2 tsp peppermint extract
  • 2 large eggs at room temperature
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup crushed candy canes (peppermint)

Directions-

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F
  2. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper or use a baking mat to prevent sticking.
  3. In a medium bowl combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir to combine.
  4. In a large bowl combine the butter, sugars, and extract.
  5. Beat until smooth.
  6. Add 1 egg and beat until well combined. Then the 2nd egg.
  7. Pour in half of the flour mixture and beat well. Add the remaining flour and beat until well combined.
  8. Add the chocolate and crushed candy.
  9. Gently fold in until combined.
  10. Drop onto the baking sheets by the tablespoon about 2 inches apart.
  11. Bake for 10-11 minutes.
  12. Let them cool for 1-2 minutes then transfer to a cooling rack or plate. cookies
  13. Repeat with remaining dough. * I like to sprinkle some extra candy on top after they 1st come out of the oven.
