Air Fryer Appetizers Chicken

Amazing Air-Fryer Buffalo Chicken Tenders

Spicy/crunchy tenders that taste like they came from a restaurant, and even better… they are ready to serve in 20 minutes!

I created this recipe after my love of spicy wings but my hate for eating meat off the bone. All the flavors on are point to what you order in a sports bar but with the convenience of home.

I love to dip them in extra buffalo sauce or to cool it down, blue cheese or ranch dressing does the trick. You can control the amount of spiciness very easily by how much you use in the dredging process.

The air fryer gives these the perfect crunch we all desire while keeping them moist in the middle and fantastic!

They will quickly become a family favorite.

Let’s get started!

Equipment

  • Air Fryer

Ingredients

  • 8 chicken thinly pounded tenders
  • 2 eggs
  • 2/3 cup Frank's Red Hot Buffalo Sauce plus more for dipping Add more if you want it spicier
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 cups panko breading
  • salt and pepper
  • Blue Cheese Dressing or Ranch optional for dipping

Instructions

  • Set out 3 shallow bowls for dredging the chicken
  • In one bowl combine the flour, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne.
  • 2nd bowl, the 2 eggs and buffalo hot sauce. Whisk
  • Pour the breading in freezer size sandwich bag, seal, and smash the crumbs to a finer texture. I find a rolling pin works well. Add to the 3rd and last shallow bowl.
  • Season the tenders with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • Dip the tenders one at a time in the flour mix, shake off the excess, then into the egg, and last the breading. Press the breading into the tender to cover it evenly.
  • Move to a tray or plate. Continue with all the tenders and pop in the fridge for 10-20 minutes.
  • When ready to cook set the Air fryer to 400° In the air fryer add a few tenders at a time but do not layer.
  • Air-fry for 8-10 minutes, then flip and continue cooking 8-10 minutes more.
Move to a cutting board or platter, cover with foil. Continue air frying the rest.
  • ENJOY!
