This super easy to make sauce is a must at the Thanksgiving table and my version adds a fun texture with dried cranberries.
Not to mention its pretty easy! I love cranberries and especially love this sauce for sandwiches. I will make it year round for turkey sandwiches. YUM!
Ingredients:
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup water
12 ounces of fresh cranberries
1/2 cup dried cranberries
3/4 cup sugar
Pinch of salt
2 tblsp. Lemon zest
Instructions:
In a saucepan bring the orange juice, water, and sugar to a boil.
Add the fresh cranberries and turn to medium heat. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring in between. Don’t be alarmed if this is the 1st time cooking cranberries THEY POP!
After 10 minutes,
Use a potato masher or spoon to flatten out any still intact cranberries.
Sprinkle in a pinch of salt, the lemon or orange zest and the dried cranberries.
Stir and stransfer to serving bowl.
Let them cool completely, cover and store in the refrigerator until ready to eat.
Can store for a week. (7 days)
